Snowmobile Insurance
Make no assumptions about the coverage on your snowmobile. Separate insurance needs to be taken out on your snowmobile by either issuing and new recreational insurance policy, or by listing it on your auto insurance policy – it varies between each insurance company. Your existing home or auto policy won’t automatically cover you.
The biggest thing to consider about snowmobile insurance is the liability coverage. It’s relatively easy to put your snowmobile back together after an accident, but about fixing yourself, or someone else for that matter? What happens if you run into another snowmobiler and you injure them as well for example? Snowmobiling without insurance could open you up to the possibilities for a major financial loss.
The good news however, is that this insurance may be cheaper than you think. Many insurance companies provide massive discounts when they already insure your vehicles. These discounts can range from 5 to 30%.
